Registration is open for the 2024 RCPCH EQIP – Innovations to improve care for paediatric epilepsy patients

Come join the wave 4 paediatric epilepsy teams at the RCPCH on Thursday, 6 June, 2024, from 11:00 to 16:00 (registration from 10:30 to 11:00). Learn about their journey to improve quality and partake in their lessons learned.

Do you want to improve the quality of care in your service but struggle to know where to even start?

The RCPCH Epilepsy Quality Improvement programme (EQIP) have now selected the paediatric epilepsy service teams  epilepsy teams in England to participate in a new wave of EQIP. Following the success of our 2022-2023 training wave, the new 2023-2024 programme will once again provide paediatric epilepsy teams with practical training and support to help uncover the gaps in service provision and develop interventions that meet their specific needs. The EQIP aims to support paediatric epilepsy teams to work together in defining their shared aim, identifying current gaps in service provision and developing practical interventions matching their capacity and resources.

Registration is open. Join the teams and learn about their quality improvement interventions and learn and interact with the teams on the challenges they over came and the successes they experienced through sharing lessons learnt.

One the day activities

On the day, participant paediatric epilepsy teams will be provided with the opportunity to showcase their achievements and discuss lessons learned at this end of programme event.

This event will involve EQIP teams presenting on their project interventions that cover QI topics on: reducing variation, mental health support pathways and Transition. The team will share their honest experiences on their QI journey with time for audience discussion points and reflections on their own local service improvements.

Access a number of  case studies and recorded presentations of the past participant teams which includes topics on:

  • Improve planning and development of transition to adult services,
  • Mental health wellbeing signposting and patient information packs for patients/their families,
  • Improving SUDEP risk discussion,
  • Developing an patient engagement processes for integrated care systems
  • Reducing variation
